DESCRIPTION:
Lost Lake is located on the north shore of Lost Lake in a maple, aspen, and white pine forest. The clear 86 acre Lost Lake is stocked with brown trout, rainbow trout, and smallmouth bass. The campground has a sandy swim beach, picnic area, and boat landing. No motors are permitted on Lost Lake. The Assessor’s Nature Trail, which passes through a 150 year old hemlock and white pine stand, is located adjacent to the campground. The 3.3 mile long Ridge Trail is also accessed from the trailhead adjacent to the campground. This trail links Lost Lake to Chipmunk Rapids Campground and the Lauterman National Recreation Trail.
DUTIES
General Duties of a Campground Host Include:
Serve as the first contact many campers will have with the Forest Service. The experience should leave campers with a positive attitude.
Greet visitors, provide information, and display a courteous and helpful demeanor when rendering assistance to visitor questions.
Serve as an important link to the Forest Service recreation staff.
Clean and resupply flush and vault bathrooms daily. On busy weekends, holidays, host will check facilities twice daily.
Clean campsites and fire rings after a campsite is vacated.
Check the boat landing and refuse collection area daily.
Perform some light maintenance as needed.
Assist visitors during any severe or inclement weather related emergencies.
Encourage visitors to “do the right thing” by following all Forest Service rules and local regulations.
Post reservation placards provided by Forest Service staff.
Report any violations to Forest Service staff.
Campground hosts are not responsible for collecting recreation fees or enforcing compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hosts are to be neat in appearance and to keep a tidy and welcoming campsite. Hosts should be in good physical condition and be able to work in a variety of weather conditions including rain, high humidity, and varying temperatures.
There is an electrical hook-up at Lost Lake Campground host site, however there is no water or sewer hook-up.. Water is available at the well-house located at the campground.
