Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Construction/Maintenance • Trail/Campground Maintenance • Visitor Information Photo Courtesy of FS DescriptionCurtis Creek Campground is located a few miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway in McDowell County, minutes from Old Fort and less than an hour from Asheville.  It is located on the first National Forest land in the east and at the site of an old Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) camp.  The camp has 25 sites offering visitors opportunities in fishing, swimming, hiking, picnicking and scenic driving. The Grandfather Ranger District is seeking an individual or couple to serve as Campground Host at the Curtis Creek Campground. The host(s) will provide recreation and trail information, check for fee payment compliance, maintain 4 restrooms (SST’s), clean fire receptacles and other light maintenance as skills provide. Host will need to manage sites that are in the National Reservation System as guided by district. Host will maintain communication with district personnel and law enforcement as needed.
