DESCRIPTION:

Fisherman’s Corner North & South Recreation Area is seeking to fill one Volunteer Custodian position for the 2023 recreation season.

Fisherman’s Corner North & South Recreation Area is a campground and day use area located along the Mississippi River near Hampton, IL. The area includes 56 campsites, shower building, vault restrooms and a playground. Fisherman’s Corner North & South is seeking to fill one Volunteer Custodian position beginning April 26 through October 22, 2023, to cleaning and associated duties. A campsite with amenities that include water and electric will be provided. Sewer service is available on one volunteer site with dump station service available in the park. Volunteers must provide their own RV/Travel Trailer and reside on a designated campsite for the duration of the season. It is expected that the volunteer will work a minimum of 21 hours per week.

 

DUTIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

·        Perform daily cleaning of one shower building, three vault toilets in Fisherman’s Corner North and South Recreation Areas as needed to maintain cleanliness, typically two cleanings per day on scheduled days to work.

·        Sweep sidewalks, entryways and floors to remove all debris.

·        Ensure restrooms are stocked properly to include toilet paper and hand soap to fill dispenser.

·        Routinely clean utility and supply rooms.

·        Remove litter from the playgrounds daily.

·        Remove litter within the mowing area and empty and change garbage bags throughout the park.

 

All cleaning supplies, equipment and tools, items to keep restrooms stocked, and protective equipment will be provided.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

·        Volunteer will be working in a combined indoor/outdoor setting independently and with USACE Ranger Staff and other campground volunteers.
