DESCRIPTION:
There are many benefits associated with volunteering at Lucky Peak Dam and Lake. Lucky Peak Dam and Lake is surrounded by over 4,000 acres of public land and is located just 30 minutes outside of Boise, ID. The Boise River is easily accessible and offers a multitude of outdoor activities during the summer.
Macks Creek: The Camp Host primary role is to maintain reservation notices at all 15 campsites and check in/out campers. This park is exceptionally busy during summer remaining at capacity most days. Hosts must be helpful and friendly when providing visitor assistance and answering questions, must report repeat violations of rules to ranger staff, and will assist with stocking supplies in 5 vault toilets. Occasionally, Hosts may be first on scene and assist with emergency situations.
At the lake itself, the site will provide you with a covered and paved RV pad, sewer and electric hookups, and trash service. A 500-gallon potable water tank is provided and refilled as needed by ranger staff. Satellite TV and internet services are the responsibility of the Camp Host. A Kawasaki Mule is offered to assist with rounds, and all necessary uniform components, safety equipment and training are provided. Long distance travel reimbursement and reimbursable meal expenses may be authorized.

· Ability to work weekends, a minimum of 24 hours per week, and live in a natural outdoor setting with your own RV.
· Desire to meet and interact with people from varied backgrounds.
· Appearance should be neat and reflect positively on the Corps.
· Ability to remain calm in busy sometimes stressful situations.
· Physical ability to lift 30 pounds and carry for 25 feet.
· Visually able to spot safety hazards and take prompt appropriate action to correct in accordance with training provided.

This position takes place outdoors and may require extended periods during adverse conditions such as heat, cold, and rain. Volunteers are expected to have the ability to work independently but generally work with other volunteers and USACE staff.
