Resort Operator                                                                     2/2023

The essential function of the Resort Operator is to oversee all daily activities of Pleasant Pines Resort & Campground.  This position reports to family members and ensures the smooth operation of the business. The Operator will work together in a team environment with other staff members and frequently interact with the guests, staff and vendors.  This person must be dependable and able to perform a variety of responsibilities and tasks independently without loss of efficiency or composure.  The Operator is responsible for ensuring the quality or maintenance of facilities, grounds and housekeeping.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide excellent customer service

Complete maintenance work throughout the resort and campgrounds to ensure a safe and acceptable property, and equipment, as well as aesthetic appearance

Follow all health, fire, and an safety policies and procedures

Excellent communication between family members and staff

Ability to organize and prioritize work within the weekly schedule

Ability to make independent decisions and determine appropriate course of action with completed follow through

When given tasks and simple repairs by management during the assigned week can work independently to complete

Capable of learning accounting computer program, Square, and computerized reservation program, Cabinkey

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Ensure reservations, arrivals, departures and stays are professionally managed and meet customer expectations

Available 24/7 to respond to customer and staff

 

FACILITIES

Fix safety, health and liability concerns. These include but not limited to lightning and facility maintenance, trip hazards, noise and pet complaints, dock and beach repair, fire hazards

Clean and sanitize facilities with cleaning staff

Clean and sanitizer fish cleaning facilities and dispose of fish waste

Maintain clean and sanitized campground bathrooms and showers

Capable of completing simple facility repairs

Capable of painting buildings

 

GROUNDSKEEPING

Maintain clean and safe beaches and docks

Maintain clean grounds

Mow and trim grounds for an attractive and well-maintained appearance

Monitor and distribute wood bundles to campers

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Move and walk throughout the resort for extended period over uneven ground

Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry for 25 feet

Bend, stoop, and reach to serve customers, clean and maintain facilities

Ascending and descending ladders, stairs and the like

Operate power tools

Outdoor elements such as precipitation, wind and elevated temperatures

Sit on motorized equipment for extended period of time

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

High school degree for equivalent

Ability to work up up to 50 hrs/week including evenings and weekends

Valid driver’s license, current insurance that includes comprehensive and collision coverage and reliable vehicle

Dress code; Up to 2 earrings per ear, no facial or tongue piercings. Top/shirts must be worn during work hours

Type of job: full time seasonal May 1 – Sept 6  Individual or couple

$17.00/hr

Typical day: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm with on call during off hours

6 days/week for a total of 48 hrs/week  Mondays off
