Campground Host at Hillsborough River State Park

 

Come live in the most beautiful campground in the State! As a campground host here, you will work with terrific staff to keep our campground bathrooms and sites clean and ready for our next guests. The scenery is wonderful, the sites are large, and the team is awesome. We look forward to expanding our team for the Summer, starting as early as May.

You will be provided with:

Campsite with water/electric hookup and a sign for your campsite
Beautiful campsite next to the Hillsborough River
Training and tools for the job
Uniform: Green Shirts and Name Tags
Workman’s Compensation for any job-related medical costs
Laundry facilities
Super team!

 

Assigned Tasks:

Cleaning assigned restrooms inside and out multiple times daily as assigned
Cleaning camp site fire rings between guests (picking up litter, remove excess coals etc.)
Greet visitors and hand out information as needed
Make small repairs around park (replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks etc.)
Reporting vandalism or maintenance repair needs that you cannot handle on work orders
Maintaining assigned building exteriors (Sweeping sidewalks, removing cobwebs, etc.)
Learning park rules and regulations, approaching fellow campers kindly when doing rule reminders, and alerting park ranger staff if there is an issue.

Number of Hours Required:

Must work 3-4 days a week (hours will vary with workload) a minimum of 20 hours per week per site. Schedules can vary and be flexible to suit individuals desires or workloads. A minimum of a two-month commitment is required for this position and a maximum of four month is allowed.

 

Standards of Performance:

Campground Hosts are park ambassadors and must be courteous and helpful to all park visitors.
Reports to work promptly on the assigned day, time and location. If volunteer cannot report to work at the assigned time, he/she should notify the supervisor before the shift begins or as soon as possible.
All equipment used will be cleaned and returned to its proper place before the end of the shift by the volunteer.
If equipment is damaged due to use the volunteer must report this to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Checks with supervisor for projects, tools, and materials.
Maintains a safe working environment by wearing proper safety equipment and following safety precautions listed for all tools and equipment.
Hosts are cognizant of visitors and answers their questions or directs them to someone who can.
Advises supervisor of any problems or concerns.
Takes the initiative to get involved in projects in which your talents and interests would be best suited.
Works collectively to support all areas of the park including non-visitor use areas.
