Position: RV Park Camp Host with Maintenance Technician Role Option
Wilson’s RV Park is in Wendell, Idaho the hub of the Magic Valley. The Park has lush green grass, mature trees, and 25 spacious campsites. There are many near-by attractions with Thousand Springs State Park and Shoshone Falls being a couple of the more well known. The area also boasts exceptional fishing, hiking, and boating. The Park also offers an RV repair and parts facility along with a dealership that sells new and used RVs.
Job Description:
The Camp Host will be the park guests’ first point of contact for any issues while staying in the park. The camp host will collaborate with and assist the management team in championing the overall guest experience. This position will be the eyes and ears of the park. Additionally, this role will also have some cleaning responsibilities for the park facilities.
In addition to host responsibilities, this position also has the option to perform a park maintenance role for general maintenance and repairs to the RV Park grounds, landscape and facilities. The maintenance role will perform maintenance and repairs on park equipment, irrigation system, RV dump station, and laundry equipment. The position requires good handy-man skills, along with park maintenance experience, and good communication skills.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Camp Host:
- Understand and enforce all park rules and policies. Goal of this position is to make sure the park is safe and enjoyable for all the guests. For example, enforcement of speed limits, child/dog care, and after-hours noise restrictions are very important.
- Assist guests upon arrival with finding their assigned site and provide any help with pulling into the site and hooking up.
- Perform a public relations role in the campground by answering questions about camping, park facilities, park rules and nearby points of interest.
- Inspect Park sites when guests leave and prior to next guest arrival. Work with park maintenance and management to resolve any issues.
- Perform daily inspections of park facilities and work with maintenance team for any repairs.
- Perform daily cleaning and re-stocking supplies of the camp restrooms and laundry facility.
- Monitor after-hours activities and report suspicious activities to manager and local authorities when necessary.
- Call for emergency services as required.
- Additional duties and projects are assigned by management as needs arise.
Maintenance Technician (option):
- Perform weekly routine lawn and tree maintenance duties
- Maintain park irrigation system with routine cleaning and repairs
- Inspect and clean park grounds and facilities, identify maintenance needs and hazards
- Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs to all park equipment and facilities as directed by the Park Manager, the General Manager, or the owners
- Perform routine RV dump station maintenance
- Maintain Park vehicles and equipment as directed by the Park manager.
- Implement daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning programs for Park facilities which include Park Store, office, restrooms, and laundry area.
- Work on all special park projects as directed by the Park Manager. Projects will mostly be focused on Park improvements or major RV site improvements.
- Provide superior customer service by being attentive, responsive, and helpful to guests’ needs. Report all customer problems, requests, or complaints to the Park and General Managers
- Follow safety procedures while performing duties, including safely operating vehicles when working throughout the Park
- Use conflict resolution strategies to provide solutions to dissatisfied guests, referring high-level issues to management as needed.
Qualifications and Compensation:
Camp Host:
- Must be available during check-out and check-in hours: 10am – 4pm
- Must have good communication and issue resolution skills.
- During evening hours, we ask our hosts to act as eyes and ears for the park and must be living on-site.
- As Camp Host you must have your own RV to live in the park.
- 48 hours’ notice must be given to management if host will not be available in the park.
- Experience: Campground host for 1 year (Preferred)
- Compensation: Waiver of park/camp fees for the Camp Host and any listed occupants. This will include 30A RV site with associated water and garbage services included, limited to reasonable and normal use. Host may be asked to pay for excess electrical use.
