Fossil Butte National Monument is looking for a volunteer to assist at the front desk of the visitor center.
Fossil Butte National Monument is looking for a volunteer to assist at the front desk answering questions, orienting visitors, swearing in junior rangers, and assisting the bookstore clerk. The position is available between May and September 2023.
The position requires a minimum of 32 hours worked per week. The work schedule is flexible but would preferably be between Monday-Friday. An RV site with electrical, water, and sewer hookups is provided.
Fossil Butte National Monument preserves a portion of the sediments of 52-million-year-old Fossil Lake. The area is known for the abundance of well-preserved fossil fishes, insects, plants, birds, and more. The visitor center is the main attraction in the park and has over 400 fossils on display.
