Job Description
Seasonal Camp Host job opening for campground located near Hueco Tanks State Park. Rock climbers from around the world visit Hueco Tanks in fall, winter and spring. Our campground offers primitive camping, RV sites, camper rentals, yurt rentals & house rentals. We operate seasonally from November – April. Applicants should familiarize themselves with hueco tanks state park rules/regulations to ensure they understand park visitation if they desire to visit the park.
CAMP HOST : duties include daily shower/toilet cleaning, collecting and logging pay envelopes (self pay site), Ensure primitive site campers have paid and registered, monitor water tank levels, occasional guest assistance cleaning rental units, maintaining cleanliness of grounds, units, Report maintenance / repair issues as they arise, Be observant of campground activities/enforce campground rules.
COMPENSATION: This is primarily a WORK/TRADE position. Host may bring choose between Basic or FHU RV Site. Hourly requirement varies depending on host needs for site.
BASIC: 40 hour/month (10hr/week) work requirement. Host will have get a RV site with utilities (water, 20 amp electric, gray water, internet, trash) plus access to RV dump and free showers.
FHU : 50 hour/ month (12.5 hr/week) requirement. Host will be provided with utilities (water, up to 50 amp electric, propane, sewer, internet, trash) plus access to free showers and toilets.
Our goal is to have most of the work completed within the allotted monthly work hours indicated above, however any hours over the monthly hour requirement are paid $15/hour.
Start date is flexible, but preferably a week or two before we open in November.
Qualifications:
Basic record-keeping experience, including money handling
Able to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately
Willing to work a flexible work schedule and be on call . Ability to move safely over potentially uneven dirt terrain, able to climb a ladder. Ability to work in cold weather.
Hiring is contingent on successful completion of a background check , Valid drivers license, Minimum age: 21
