ROLE Manager Lake Russell/Nancytown Recreation Areas –Chattahoochee National Forest – Georgia
FLSA STATUS Non-Exempt; Seasonal
REPORTS TO Director of Campgrounds
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum High School Diploma.  Prefer at least 2 year College Degree or applicable job related experience
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mission Ambassadors for CFAIA.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the recreation sites at Lake Russell for April – October operating season.  Performs any duties required to maintain operational integrity of area.
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills to ensure exceptional customer service, including conflict resolution skills.  Ensures Good Host concepts are utilized with every staff contact with public.
  • Responsible for supervision, training and direction and support of staff in coordination with the Director of Campgrounds.  Assists with employee recruitment program.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely record keeping and reporting including revenue, maintenance, safety and demographic reports.
  • Oversees site budget, make deposits and issue cash refunds where appropriate.
  • Compliance with O & M requirements in their district.  Identifies safety hazards and be responsible for repair.  Coordinates and helps to identify campground needs and adherence to Operations Plan.
  • Coordinates maintenance projects with the Director of Campgrounds.
  • Facilitates meetings held regularly during the season as a combination of planning work assignments and training opportunities.  Attends meetings with the Forest Service, as needed.
  • Clean restrooms, campsites and other campground facilities.
  • Mows and performs grounds maintenance.
  • Responsible to maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Responsible for greeting and registering guests and collecting user fees.
  • Assists with special projects such as corporate sponsorship meetings and staff training meetings.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team as well as assume independent responsibilities.
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills to ensure exceptional customer service, including conflict resolution skills.  Ensures Good Host concepts are utilized with every staff contact with public.

Essential Functions of the Position – In order to complete the detailed responsibilities of the position, individuals must be able to:

  • Move, lift and utilize handheld gas powered grounds keeping equipment
  • Operate mowing equipment with trailer.
  • Bend and squat to pick up trash/litter.
  • Stretch and reach to access plumbing /electrical systems.
  • Navigate stairs and step to access office and other campground facilities (amphitheater).
  • See and hear in order to safely drive truck and/or golf cart.
  • See, read and comprehend labels on cleaning products in order to use safely according to product directions.
  • Strong computer literacy, i.e., e-mail, Excel and Word.
