DESCRIPTION
Volunteer Activities• Range/Livestock • Tour Guide/Interpretation • Visitor Information Photo Courtesy of NPS DescriptionWork alongside park rangers and our famous stagecoach Driver Burrell “Buckshot” Maier to tell the story of Yosemite’s past! Staff Hills Studio Visitor Center alongside park rangers, providing park information to the public in a volunteer uniform. Tell stories of Yosemite’s past in period costumes in historic buildings. Collect funds and issue tickets to public for horse-drawn stagecoach rides. Keep track of funds collected, tallies number of adult and child tickets, and total amount of funds collected at the end of each day. Responds to emergency or unusual situations as needed. Feed 4 horses twice a day, clean corrals twice a day, assist with chopping wood for campfire programs, clear small rocks out of dirt horse-drawn wagon road, pick up litter, and perform light trail maintenance. Assist with cleanup projects, horse training and preparation, and other administrative tasks. Volunteer must wear personal protective equipment that is provided. Conduct trail roves and completes roving reports and statistics at the end of every shift. HOUSING & AMENITIESDescription: RV site in a secluded volunteer campground with hookups.
