Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Trail/Campground Maintenance • Visitor Information DescriptionSearching for candidates available for the 2020 Season!  The Antietam Creek Campground overlooks the Potomac River and the C&O Canal in historic Sharpsburg, Maryland. Nearby is Antietam National Battlefield, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and the historic town of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The Appalachian Trail passes nearby. The C&O Canal towpath offers excellent biking and hiking opportunities. Frederick and Hagerstown Maryland are within driving distance from the campground. Host duties include a 32 hour work week assisting campers with registration and providing information, as well as some light litter cleanup around the campground, clearing ashes from grills and fire rings, and monitoring the condition of the pit toilet facilities. Hosts will report problems and conditions to the Law Enforcement Ranger and Maintenance Supervisor. The campground host campsite includes water and 50 amp electrical hookups as well as a septic system, phone line, picnic table, and fire ring. There is no limit to the RV size. There is no internet available at this site.
