DEPT: National Park Service
DATES: 6/1/2024 – 8/31/2024
DESCRIPTION:
Grand Canyon’s Campground Hosts ensure that park visitors have as safe and enjoyable a visit as possible, and in the process, have an enjoyable time themselves!
Living Conditions/Location
The volunteer will provide their own living accommodations e.g., RV, the park will pay for electric and propane. Cell service has been getting better over the years, Verizon has the best service. There is no Wi-Fi. However, there is a recreational center in the Village that has Wi-Fi and a computer lab. There is a market and multiple restaurants at the Village. However, the market is limited and expensive. The nearest town that has multiple grocery and retail stores is Flagstaff, AZ which is 90 miles away from the park. Northern Arizona has a unique climate depending on the time of year, it can be snowing or over 100 degrees. Please pack many layers because even if it is hot during the day, temperatures can reach freezing at night. Northern Arizona is also very dry and high altitude, prepare yourself for that type of environment and living at 7,000 ft.
