DESCRIPTION:
Visitor Services Volunteer – Housing Available (Room or RV pad)
This position is for a front desk volunteer at Memorial Visitor Center. Duties for this position include providing information to visitors, answering the telephone, and performing opening and closing duties at the center. The daily work schedule is 8 hours, from 8:00-4:30 with a 30-minute lunch break. Volunteering over the winter season is often quiet, with minimal visitation from December 1st-March 1st. Volunteers should be comfortable with a quiet, slower-paced environment during these months.
Volunteers in this position should be able to communicate with a wide variety of visitors with a positive attitude, answer specific questions about the park’s policies, and show passion for serving the public. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. On-site orientation, training, and a uniform will be provided and required to wear while on-duty.
To qualify for housing, volunteers must commit to 4 days/week of visitor center coverage.
The Volunteer RV area is in a communal area which is only accessible to staff and other volunteers.
