DESCRIPTION
Volunteer Activities• Construction/Maintenance DescriptionThis 32 hour per week volunteer position at Lake Village is located in the heart of Yellowstone National Park. Additional positions may be available at Canyon Village and Grant Village, all located on the east side of Yellowstone National Park. The volunteer will work with a team of maintenance employees dedicated to accomplishing the mission of the National Park Service through maintenance of the infrastructure so critical to that mission. This successful volunteer will have experience doing light maintenance, painting, and light custodial work. The work schedule will be flexible to meet project needs and changing weather conditions. Work transportation is provided. Protective clothing and personal protective equipment is also provided along with appropriate training. Safety is a priority at Yellowstone National Park for every member of the workforce, paid or volunteer. The position includes an RV site in the employee trailer court. The site and utilities are provided at no cost to the volunteer. The volunteer is welcome to participate in the employee recreation program which includes everything from a softball league to hiking club to talent show. The start date is negotiable but no later than early June. The position continues through September. Preference is given to longer season availability.
