DEPT: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
DATES: 5/20/2024 – 10/31/2024
DESCRIPTION:
Burnsville Lake is now recruiting volunteers for the 2024 recreation season (June – October). Volunteers are requested to help administer the Bulltown Historical Area. This area includes historical structures dating back to the late 1800’s, the Bulltown Battlefield, and Cunningham Farmstead. Self-guiding trails and a portion of the Weston Gauley Bridge Turnpike are also available.
Volunteers will assist with day-to-day operations within the visitor center as well as general maintenance around the Bulltown Historical Area. Typical work includes staffing the visitor center, providing tours, mowing, light carpentry, painting, living history events, and general support. In exchange for 24 hours per week of service, volunteers will be provided a free full-hookup site in Volunteer Village at Bulltown Campground. Volunteers will also be given a volunteer pass for day use areas, waiving day use fees.
