Host shall make judgement calls based on rules and safety. The duties and responsibilities of the Host shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

a. Meeting with all incoming campers at Jefferson County Lake Campground to ensure all campers have reviewed the campground rules received during their reservation of their campsite/campsites. Host can explain rules as needed.

b. Being available to guests daily, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Host will get Tuesdays off from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Additional time off may be granted as needed to take care of personal matters, on condition that the Host has received prior written approval from the Administrator at least two weeks in advance so a suitable substitute may be found. Any absence without prior approval from the Administrator shall be a breach of this agreement and grounds for dismissal from the Host position.

c. Making rounds in the campground, the beach areas of the park, and the entrance booth, at least every 2 hours, so they are seen if questions arise or instructions need to be given to patrons and campers.

d. Hanging “Reserved” tags daily on each reserved campsite and retrieve the signs once the reservation is filled. If for any reason Host is not able to do this they must contact the Administrator, maintenance personnel, or otherwise ensure that it is done in a timely manner each day. Host can check reserved campsites through ResNexsus Management Services to insure no persons are camping outside of reserved dates and locations.

e. Maintaining an orderly campground by requiring R.V.’s and tents be placed on proper sites.

f. Opening the Main restrooms each morning at 9:00 AM, clean them each morning or evening, and close and lock them at 9:00 PM. Host shall inspect all restrooms (both the Vaulted & Main restrooms) daily for cleanliness and maintenance issues and report problems to maintenance staff. The maintenance crews will do spot checks throughout the day and keep them swept up and tidy.

g. Watering the plants/flowers in the park and camp that don’t get watered with the sprinkler system daily or more as needed through the summer.

h. The Host shall notify the Administrator and maintenance staff of any urgent or emergency issues that would impact public safety or preservation of property.

i. Reporting to the Administrator the need for any materials or supplies.

j. Ensuring that the campground is in a clean, safe and orderly condition at all times.

k. Refraining from public use of tobacco and alcohol, including e-cigarettes. Host shall not act in their official capacity while intoxicated or otherwise impaired.

l. Enforcing the campground & park regulations and ordinances. It shall be the obligation of the Host to report to the Administrator or to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office any infraction or violation of any state or local rule or ordinance observed by the Host or reported to the Host by patrons of the park/campground, including the rules prohibiting alcoholic beverages and off-leash dogs. The Host shall investigate disturbances before calling for police intervention, except in situations that may endanger the Host’s life or safety.

m. Being familiar with how to contact the proper emergency services personnel in case of emergency.

n. Clearing the water of all swimmers, kayak/boarders/canoes etc. before dark for safety purposes.

o. Performing drive-by inspections of all campsites each evening to ensure that payments have been made on all occupied sites and to make appropriate arrangements with the booth and campers for collection of unpaid fees.

p. Maintaining good public relations and performing all duties in a courteous and professional manner, communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with the general public and county employees.

q. Setting the example by keeping their campsite orderly, clean, and welcoming to patrons who come to them for instructions.
