Spacious Skies Campgrounds is a growing collection of campgrounds in the eastern United States catering to RV, tent, cabin, and glamping customers from all walks of life.

The role: As a Maintenance Associate at SSC, you are responsible for performing routine building, amenity, infrastructure, and grounds maintenance tasks, general cleaning, and other tasks as determined by the General Manager (GM). The main function of this role is to ensure that all facilities run smoothly and safely throughout the camping season and that all grounds present impeccably. The person who fills this role will work closely with the GM, maintenance, grounds, front desk, and housekeeping crew, and other team members. This position, like all at SSC, is customer-facing, and maintains a pleasant, welcoming, hospitable attitude when onsite serving guests. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the campground.

Responsibilities:
Safely operate necessary groundskeeping and heavy equipment such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws and other machines
Ensure grounds are maintained and kept clean at all times
Clean buildings and common areas throughout the park
Perform electrical, carpentry and plumbing work as needed
Perform collection and cleanup
Provide guest support when needed
Other duties as assigned
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to determine the most effective repair or replacement solutions.
Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and relevant codes.
Engage in special projects and initiatives to improve campground operations and guest experiences.
Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in grounds, facility and site maintenance or the equivalent
Past campground/mobile home community/property maintenance experience and/or knowledge of the camping lifestyle preferred
Ability to understand and implement safety regulations and procedures and environmental standards
Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
Ability to safely drive trucks, tractors and other motorized vehicles
Valid driver’s license
Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance, landscaping, utilities and equipment repair
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Prioritization and time management skills
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-stimuli, guest-focused environment
Reliable transportation
Education/Experience:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
1+ years customer service experience and exceptional customer service skills
Previous work experience which included safety processes and procedures
Experience and knowledge of some combination of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, small engine repair, groundskeeping
A team player who is willing to assist others when needed
The desire to continue learning new skills
