Golden State Heritage Site is a 5.43 acre Day Use Park located about 20 miles North of Grants Pass. This old ghost town has a rich history dating back to the gold rush era. The host will be at this park solo with a Park Ranger located at Wolf Creek Inn 4 miles away. Hosts will be required to travel to Wolf Creek Inn periodically to assist park staff. The site is equipped with water, sewer, electricity (50amp) and a land line. Cell service is poor and may require a booster.
Duties include;
Maintenance/cleaning
litter picking, mowing, weed-whack, weed, remove limbs, brush, maintain trails, preventative maintenance and minor service and repairs on equipment such as changing fluids, replacing belts and hoses and sharpening blades. May assist park staff with major storm clean-up, maintenance and/or construction/repair projects. May work with corrections crew inmates on cleanup and maintenance projects. Provides security for the park while on or off duty.
Visitor Services
Answer questions and provide information to park visitors. Periodically provide park tours. Prepares park for wedding and group activities. Works with park staff to coordinate special events.
