Job Description
Ausable Chasm Campground is currently seeing workamper couples for the 2024 summer season. Located just off Lake Champlain in the beautiful Adirondak Park of northern New York, the campground is perfectly situated for outdoor enthusiasts. From fishing, paddling, boating, hiking, and rock climbing there is something everyone. Enjoy access to the famous Ausable Chasm, established in 1870 it is one of the earliest and oldest attractions in the country. More than 11 million visitors have witnessed what mother nature has provided: a uniquely carved, vertical-walled canyon composed of 500-million-year-old rock (Potsdam sandstone). Through our reciprocal pass program, workampers will receive free admission to dozens of area attractions including, Whiteface Mountain, Six Flags Great Escape, Revolutionary War Forts, Lake Placid attractions, and so much more!
The workamping season starts May. 1 through Oct. 15. Workers will be compensated with a FHU site, $15/hr, and a bonus for staying through the end of season. Ideal couples would be available for 35-40hr/week (including weekends and holidays) and include one person for grounds/maintenance, with the other working office/activities. Couples can have the same scheduled days off if desired.
Grounds/maintenance duties include: Mowing/trimming of lawn, restroom and cabin cleanup, cleaning firepits, and general park upkeep. Electrical and plumbing experience is a plus.
Office/activities duties include: Excellent customer service, greeting and registering guests, office clean up, participation in activities as needed, and helping customers in the gift shop. Campspot experience is a plus.
