JOB DESCRIPTION:
The US Army Corps of Engineers at Somerville Lake is looking for individuals and couples to serve as Volunteer Park Hosts for the 2024 Recreation Season. Volunteers will assist park rangers and other personnel operating and managing high quality recreation areas by assisting park visitors, conducting rounds, opening and closing gates, and responding to calls and questions. Quality applicants have experience managing recreation areas, interacting with the public in a professional and helpful manner, working with excellent customer service and integrity, and informing visitors about park rules and policies. Volunteers must provide an RV or travel trailer for lodging during their term of service. The Corps will provide a campsite and free utilities in exchange for 20 hours of work per week per couple. Background checks are required, and candidates should be able to work the entire recreation season, April 1 through September 30. Corps staff may invite high-performing volunteers to stay past September 30.
