JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a volunteer that can be on site as soon as possible after submitting a quality, completed volunteer application and interviewing for the position. The position is available until July 27th, 2024.
The Bodie Island District, located within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, seeks out enthusiastic people who are happy to engage the public about a rich, seaside history in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
As team members, you will actively participate in duties to support the interpretive operations and mission goals of the park. This includes supporting rangers with lighthouse tours which requires you to climb 219 steps or 10 flights of stairs to the top of the lighthouse!
During the summer season visitation increases as the lighthouse is open for climbing, so visitor center and information desk duties are primarily centered upon customer service and administrative support. An RV site with full hook-ups (must provide your own RV) is available with a 32 hour a week commitment.
