Calling all retired couples and empty nesters who own an RV and are looking to spend the Summer in South Carolina for free!!!!!
Have you ever heard of workamping? It’s a great way to explore the country and work as you travel. In a nutshell, you “swap” the hours you work for a free campsite (with water, electric and sewer), plus all our amenities (WiFi, salt water pool, dog park, with laundry and kitchen on-site) and lots of perks, like paid propane, ice, firewood, and t-shirts. AND discounts in the store and kitchen. (Average $1500 – 1700/month – all of your living expenses, except meals, are covered!)
Newberry, SC KOA (Kampgrounds of America) needs one more healthy couple (for the Spring/Summer 2024 Season) who are looking for a little hard work and a lotta good fun. Join our Amazing Workamper Tribe from May 1 – October 2024 or June 1 – November 2024.
Duties: One person would help the maintenance crew (outdoors), and one person would help the office crew (indoors). Each person only works 14 hours/week, with the same days off to explore South Carolina.
- Customer Service – Being a general “ambassador” for the campground. Deliver firewood, ice, food as needed.
- Grounds Maintenance – Mowing, weed whacking, leaf pickup and disposal (burning), garbage collection (common trash cans, not individual sites), and occasional site cleaning between guests’ stays .
- General Projects – As needed, you may be asked to cut or trim trees, paint, weed, garden, or perform general electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
- General Cleaning – We have a rotating schedule for cleaning bathrooms, accommodations, and the store. Everyone does a little of everything.
- Pool & Propane – You may be asked to assist “The Pool Guy” with various pool maintenance tasks or to fill propane (we will train you) when you are “on duty.”
- Office – Greeting Guests, making reservations through K2 system, escorting guests to sites, processing purchases. Helping to order, stock, and price items.
- Kinardia Kitchen – We offer pizza, wings, and donuts to our guests; they are pre-made, but you will be asked to help cook, order, stock, and clean the kitchen.
- Events – We host events throughout the seasons, usually fund-raising in nature. We hope that you would want to attend and give us a hand to set up and clean up.
- Anything Else – We can’t create an all-inclusive list of things that you may be asked to do. We can tell you that we’ll be working right beside you.
Qualifications:
-Own your own rig.
-Workamping experience preferred, but not required.
-Office experience and lawn care experience is helpful. We will train you!
Compensation:
In return, as already noted, you’ll receive an RV site with full hook-ups (including paid electricity– a $1,100 value during peak season) and a monthly allowance for firewood, laundry, ice, and propane. (Basically, you won’t pay for anything that the campground can provide.) Plus, cash bonuses for superior team work upon completion of your contract and discounts in our Kampstore and Kitchen during your stay!
Finally, we’re less than an hour’s drive from the cities of Greenville, Spartanburg, Greenwood, and Columbia. Day Trips are fun and easy to plan!
