We’re hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor to Live. Work. Explore. in Zion!

 

Job Summary:

This role will oversee and coordinate the daily operations, training, and motivation of our housekeeping and laundry staff. The successful candidate will ensure that our facility is clean and well-maintained and that all guests receive the highest quality of service.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: $15.35/hr
Housing: Complimentary Single Status Dorm Room OR RV Site (Self-contained RV with toilet and shower that is no more than 10 years old)
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize guest service.
  • Ensure an attractive and clean facility for guests in rooms and all public areas, including offices and supply closets.
  • Determine specific work assignments for room attendants and support staff according to the staffing guides and occupancy rate.
  • Monitor the progress of housekeeping employees each day:
  • Cleaning to standard, finishing in a timely manner, comfortable with their job, etc.
  • Fully train all staff members.
  • Keep payroll budgets for housekeeping employees in line with the budget, reporting the daily and weekly reports accurately.
  • Make sure all housekeeping employees are in uniform each workday.
  • On a timely basis, make sure employees have quality control training as needed.
  • Initiate corrective action; retrain, coach, and discipline, as necessary.
  • Enforce correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
    Schedule daily special cleaning projects for room attendants and inspectors.
  • Coordinate linen handling such as daily inventory and sorting, weekly and monthly inventories; clean linen distribution, soiled linen collection, storage room organization and security, and proper cart loading and security.
  • By 4:00 pm daily, ensure that all rooms are reported to the front desk as ready.
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with key security procedures.
  • Follow Rooms Department instructions on opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide timely, weekly work schedules and post at least three (3) days before the start of the new workweek.
  • Provide timely mid-season and final written evaluations of all housekeeping personnel. Solicit input from inspectors and assistants.
  • Provide accurate and timely room histories and capital improvement requests.
  • Verify payroll hours on a daily and weekly basis for all housekeeping personnel.

Qualifications:

  • 1 or more year(s) previous supervisory experience in a housekeeping or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Effective organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Effective time management skills required. Must have the ability to organize a team to promote efficiency, and monitor progress and quality control.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies and linens sporadically throughout the day.
  • Making beds, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching as needed for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Standing for long periods of time, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day.
  • Pushing a hotel or laundry cart up to 50-75 pounds as needed.
  • Working safely with required chemicals, using Personal Protective Equipment as required.
