JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hahns Peak Lake Campground a popular campground on The Hahns Peaks/Bears Ears Ranger District near Steamboat Springs, CO. This campground offers 27 campsites and a day-use area non-motorized boat ramp. 20 of the campsites are under the reservation system and the remainder are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The units are situated next to Hahns Peak Lake, a scenic lake of 160 acres near the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. There are boating facilities, and the lake is a popular destination area for camping, hiking, and fishing. The wetlands around the lake are prime moose territory and moose and elk are often seen near the campground.

 

The campground is 8,500 feet in elevation and summer temperatures are fairly cool. Numerous hiking trails are nearby. The campground has spectacular views of forested lakeshore, picturesque mountain lake and the 10,774-foot Hahns Peak. Lupine and other colorful wildflowers appear throughout the warmer months. Hahns Peak Campground is about 30 miles and about an hour drive north of Steamboat Springs, CO. Moderate cellphone coverage is nearby.

NOTE: Host Site has no RV hookups. Campground does have bathrooms and trash service.

Hosts are provided $25 per day.
