We’re hiring a Kitchen Supervisor to Live. Work. Explore. in Zion!
Job Summary:
The Kitchen Supervisor will help oversee a high-volume kitchen operation by leading and training staff, delegating tasks, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation efforts, processing payroll, coordinating orders/inventory, and facilitating employee relations. This position supports in food preparation, cooking, storing foods, labeling, FIFO, checking temperatures, organizing coolers/walk-ins, receiving orders, and helping to ensure overall smooth BOH operations.
The Details:
Start Date: ASAP – 12/31/2024
Pay: $18.90/per hour
Housing & Meal Costs: Complimentary & Single Status or RV Site
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
- Train and document training of all kitchen personnel.
- Delegate daily tasks to leads and follow up on all staff performances.
- Effective enforcement of all Xanterra and Food and Beverage policies and procedures.
- Maintain and execute recipes and ensure their daily use.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of all Kitchen Staff.
- Prepare timely mid and final-season employee evaluations and turn in to Human Resources.
- Initiate corrective action, retraining, coaching, and discipline as needed.
- Verify payroll hours daily and weekly for kitchen employees implementing cost control functions to achieve plan.
- Perform daily safety and sanitation inspections.
- Develop daily features, their costs production, and presentation to wait staff.
- Resolution of conflicts and administering consistent disciplinary action when necessary.
- Achieve guest comment-good to excellent-average scores.
- Coordinates daily with storekeeper regarding ordering and special purchases.
- To perform all other appropriate duties as determined by supervisors.
- The accurate and timely completion of all reports
Qualifications:
- Certification by ServSafe.
- Working knowledge of health code protocol.
- Understanding of utilizing all kitchen equipment.
- Consistent adherence to all Xanterra and Food and Beverage policies/procedures.
- Appropriate maintenance of accurate records and files.
- Consistent monitoring of food sanitation and quality.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Organizational command, supervision, staffing, scheduling etc.
- 1-3 years of progressive supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to work standing for eight hours, and must have the endurance to function in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Will be required to work in a refrigerated walk-in cooler with temperatures between 35-45 degrees.
- Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and grasp.
