Job Summary:

You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements. Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety.  You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.  Diagnose refrigeration and heating equipment malfunctions and make the needed repairs or modifications to the electrical and mechanical apparatus as needed to keep the systems operating efficiently at all times.  Perform the equipment manufacturers suggested maintenance programs on a fixed schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an adequate inventory of materials, equipment and tools required to perform routine tasks without delays.
  • Supports company environmental initiatives by maintaining equipment to maximize energy, water and fuel efficiency.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner in a safe environment.
  • Observe all requirements for the GTLC Hazard Communication Program
  • Attend training and observe all applicable OSHA and other regulatory compliance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required by human resources and the EH&S office. Programs include, but are not limited to: permit-required confined spaces; respiratory protection; blood-borne pathogens; personal protective equipment (PPE); hearing conservation; lockout-tagout; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan; driver safety; and, general proper operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed by supervisor.
  • Every Maintenance Department staff member will be assigned other technical work within the department when maintenance crisis occur within the company or work in their particular technical field is temporarily or permanently reduced.  This job summary is intended as a guide, it is not an all-inclusive job description.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to kitchen equipment including but not limited to convection ovens, steamers, fryers, ranges, flat top griddles, char broils, mixers, heat lamps, steam tables, stove tops.
  • Maintain safe workplace.
  • Perform final operational testing on all equipment to quality-check all repairs.
  • Be able to repair and work with propane heated kitchen equipment.
  • Install new food service (Kitchen) equipment and systems when required.
  • Relocate and expand existing food service (Kitchen) systems when required
  • Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install electrical wiring, controls and piping according to specifications and code.
  • Wire and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls and humidity controls according to wiring schematics.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for all food service (Kitchen) as needed.
  • Receive and complete work order tickets.
  • Select material, hardware, and get estimates for repairs and parts.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with management to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Detect needed repairs on equipment and while following established inspection procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of Kitchen mechanic experience or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, Successful MVR completion
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics
  • Systems troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Multiple fields of experience (kitchen, laundry, electrical, etc.)

The expected pay range is $22.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
