Job Description
The Shreveport/Bossier City KOA is a year-round campground. We are searching for an office rep and maintenance professional team to live onsite to fulfill various responsibilities related to the upkeep and operation of the grounds.
An RV site with utilities will be provided. Candidates must have their own mobile living unit and submit pictures of the unit along with their application.
These positions are paid hourly. We expect the work to be mostly part-time with some full time/overtime possible. Weekends and holidays are required. Length of stay is negotiable.
Both Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively while being self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team. Maintaining a professional and positive attitude is extremely important. Qualified candidates should have previous experience in their respective positions and be flexible and motivated to meet whatever needs arise at the campground day-to-day.
Both positions are responsible for:
Customer Service: Providing as-needed assistance and information to campers, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction during their stay at the campground.
Cleaning: Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the grounds by regularly cleaning and maintaining the grounds and the facilities, such as bathhouse, laundry room, picnic areas, and common areas. Picking up trash at each site and ensuring that trash bins are emptied regularly. Additionally, performing regular inspections to identify any maintenance or repair needs and address them promptly. Regularly picking up and disposing of any/all micro-trash/debri. Keeping the campground clean and well-maintained is important to provide a pleasant and inviting environment for campground visitors.
Security: Ensuring the safety security of the campground by monitoring the premises and reporting any suspicious activities, wildlife or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
Maintenance Specific Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs: Conducting routine maintenance and repairs to ensure that facilities, buildings, and equipment are in good working condition. This may involve but is not limited to plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep. Maintenance workers are also responsible for general equipment and tool maintenance. This includes regular cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. It may also involve minor repairs or replacements and oil changes as needed. Proper maintenance of equipment and tools is essential to ensure efficiency and safety in campground maintenance tasks.
Groundskeeping: Maintaining and caring for the campground’s grounds including but not limited to mowing lawns, tree trimming, raking, weed mitigation, filling potholes, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the area.
Trail and road maintenance: Building trails and roads, clearing debris from walking paths and roads, spraying/mowing/removing weeds, repairing any damages or hazards, and ensuring proper signage is in place for visitors. Regular inspections and upkeep of trails and roads are important to ensure the safety and convenience of campground users.
Site Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of the campground’s sites, facilities, amenities, and infrastructure to identify any maintenance or repair needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Includes ensuring the cleanliness, safety and appearance of the grounds by regularly cleaning and maintaining the facilities.
Pest Control: Monitoring and addressing any pest or insect infestations that may occur within the campground areas and facilities. This involves implementing pest control measures like traps, repellents, or contacting professional pest control services if necessary.
Office Specific Responsibilities:
Cash Handling: Accurately counting cash drawers, effectively generate open and close tickets using a Casio HR-170RC Calculator, processing transactions, and handling cash and credit card payments.
Sales: Selling products in our store by showcasing their features and benefits, and effectively closing sales. Maintaining an inviting atmosphere for customers through attention to detail while keeping shelves and fridges visually appealing, well organized and free of dust.
Office Duties: Performing various office tasks such as answering phones, making reservations, filling out and filing paperwork for cabins and long-term stays, bagging ice, folding and packaging laundry. Organizing the storage rooms and placing orders for cleaning supplies.
Cleaning: Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the office, store, laundry room, bathhouse and cabins, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
