Mulberry Gap is a small family-owned “Adventure Basecamp” with a summer camp vibe that caters to outdoorsy folks visiting the North Georgia mountains for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and being in nature. We have 11 glamping-style cabins and 8 campsites for tents, vans, and small RVs. We run shuttles to various trailheads, run a small onsite retail store, and serve southern-style meals in The Barn Friday Dinner through Sunday Lunch each weekend. You can check us out at www.MulberryGap.com

Between the two workamping team members, we have five general areas to cover:

  • Cook / Kitchen Manager (meal preparation, serving, kitchen management (~20-30 hours/week)
  • Guest Services / Retail Store (taking reservations, restocking & receiving orders) (~10-20 hours/week)
  • Housekeeping (cleaning cabins, bathhouses, common spaces and laundry) (~8-16 hours/week)
  • Property Care (mowing, trash/recycling runs, hot tubs, leaf blowing, etc) (10-16 hours/week)
  • Shuttle Driving (loading/unloading bikes, safely traveling to trailheads) (~4-12 hours/week)

Since our busiest time each week is Thursday-Sunday, these two positions will need to divide the kitchen role and the guest services role, but the other three areas are flexible to fall to either person or be divided between the two folks. Here are a couple options that work well for the division of areas, but we’re very happy to work with a couple to divide the work based on your skills, experience, and interest!

Workampers joining the team can be comfortable knowing they won’t be “dropped in” with little guidance or support. Andrew has many years of experience working as the Mulberry Gap “chef” and has all the knowledge of menus, recipes, shopping, and dining hall procedures to share with an incoming cook. He also has been the onsite property manager for his entire adult life and knows everything there is to know about the facility! Kate has coordinated the world of Guest Services and Housekeeping for many years and has all the knowledge, tips, and tricks to make sure team members working in those areas have all the support they need. We serve breakfast and dinner meals in “The Barn” each week from Friday Dinner through Sunday Breakfast, alongside filling “to-go” lunches for guests heading out on the trails. Dinner guests enjoy a hearty “family recipe” style menu centering around favorite items like smoked brisket, pulled pork, grilled chicken, and a range of great sides. At breakfast, guests look forward to items like homemade fresh waffles, pancakes, french toast and all the fixings. Guests taking a to-go lunch can expect creative and robust sandwiches/wraps, fruits, sides, and dessert.
