Job Description
Sawyers Rapids Park is a small privately owned RV Park and Campground situated directly on the banks of the scenic Umpqua River in Oregon. With permanent and nightly guests, the Park comprises 20 riverfront RV sites, 2 mobile homes (with long-term residents), 4 Airbnb cabins, and 8 seasonal primitive tent camping sites). We are open year-round, with many full-time residents who have lived here for many years.
Most operation functions of the park have been automated, thereby reducing the workload of the Host (this is roughly a half-time position, depending on your abilities). ALL reservations are booked online. Long-term Residents also pay their rent and utility bills online (though a few still pay in person).
Our Host is responsible for daily and weekly tasks.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Manage daily operations with a friendly, professional attitude.
- Answer messages/return calls (very few)
- Keep bathrooms and showers clean and maintained.
- Keep lounge, office, and common areas cleaned
- Check / clean campsites as capers check out
- Maintain fishing logs and confirm guests’ vehicles
- Respond in a timely fashion to guests and prospective guest inquiries.
- Ensure a high level of customer service. Be on call as needed.
- Receive and resolve any guest complaints.
- Enforce the Park’s rules & regulations and standards.
- Field, confirm, and transpose Airbnb inquiries into Reservation Software
- Communicate with Airbnb guests promptly
- Read and record electric meters monthly
- Work with Owners to quickly address Park issues.
- Communicate with Owners via text/email/phone regularly, as needed.
- Responsible for minimal grounds maintenance.
- Monitor facilities daily to ensure a great experience & safe environment.
- Must be able to work well with others and help keep the Park clean and safe
Requirements:
- Positive Attitude
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of Google products (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meetings, etc)
- Familiarity with Social Media applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of money/finance, cash operations
- Basic plumbing and electrical skills are a plus
- Property Management or hospitality experience is a plus
- No Drugs, No Smoking
Compensation:
The Park Host position, requires 4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week (20-25 hrs/week, depending on your abilities). In exchange for duties performed, the Park Host receives Free Housing in a large double-wide, 4 bedroom Mobile Home with a deck and beautiful River view, and free storage for your RV, or, a free FHU RV spot.
Water, Trash, and Fiber Optic Internet services are also included, while electricity is Host’s responsibility. In addition to housing, the Park Host will receive:
- Monthly Host Duties: $800/mo.
- Cabin Cleaning: $25/turn (an additional $800/mo with 2 bookings/cabin per week)
- Monthly bonus if specific performance goals are achieved. These goals may include:
- Maintaining Airbnb Superhost status
- Achieving Gross Monthly Revenue goals and/or Profit goals (varies with seasonality)
Potential compensation for this half-time* position, including housing value, cabin cleaning fees, and bonuses equates to ~$69,600/yr.
The Park Host is paid on the first business day of each month for the services performed during the previous month.
