Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Construction/Maintenance • Trail/Campground Maintenance • Tour Guide/Interpretation • Visitor Information Photo Courtesy of FS DescriptionThe Smokey Bear Ranger District on the Smokey Bear Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest is looking for campground hosts. This rustic style campground has 12 sites set at the base of Sierra Blanca. A portion of the site is designed for Group Camping.  Three Rivers is a great place to go to get away from the crowds and is located at a much lower elevation than our other campgrounds (around 5000′) and is adjacent to the BLM Petroglyph site.  From here you can access the Three Rivers trailhead (T44) into the White Mountain Wilderness is located.  There is a well paved dirt road that leads you to the campground. The campground is open year round. A reimbursement may be availiable.  The facilities at the campground include 13 camping sites(tables, grills, and shelters), 2 group sites with shelters and tables, 4 double vault restrooms, all-weather gravel loop roads, 8 horse corrals, trash cans and receptacles, and a trailhead parking lot.  This site is open year round and has relatively light usage.  RV’s are limited to 25’ in length. Directions: From US 54, 24 miles south of Carrizozo or 18 miles north of Tularosa, turn east onto Forest Road 579 at the sign that says Three Rivers Petroglyph Site and Campground for 13 miles (the last 7 miles are unpaved). The road is well marked to the campground. Duties include but may not be limited to: Checking restrooms for cleanliness and restocking supplies as needed. Ensuring payment for sites and site compliance (quiet hours, fire restrictions, site cleanliness) Light maintenance and cleaning of sites including picking up loose garbage, cleaning fire pits, cleaning off tables. Ensuring garbage is in receptacle.
