DATES: 4/1/2025 – 9/30/2025

DEPT: Bureau of Land Management

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Bureau of Land Management, (BLM) Siuslaw Field Office seeks an experienced, enthusiastic host or host couple to join our team at Clay Creek Recreation Site! Clay Creek is a seasonal recreation site at the confluence of Clay Creek and the Siuslaw River in Oregon’s stunning Coast Range. At Clay Creek, visitors enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and picnicking.

Host volunteers manage campsite reservations, answer visitor questions, encourage visitor rule adherence, and maintain the site. The selected volunteer(s) must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, as visitor interactions occur daily. Volunteers are also required to perform maintenance duties, such as landscaping (weed-eating, mowing, leaf blowing) and cleaning (restrooms, litter collection, etc.) Based on these physical duties, volunteers must be able and willing to walk up to 5 miles per day and lift up to 25 pounds. Site-based training is provided by BLM staff upon entry on duty.

One paved RV site with water, electric (110V only), and sewer hook-ups is provided for lodging.

This position works on site April through September. A full six-month commitment is required.
