Volunteer Activities• Construction/Maintenance • Historical Preservation • General Assistance Photo Courtesy of NPS DescriptionDUTIES: Duties will vary depending on park needs and personal skills. Duties could include grounds keeping, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general up-keep and maintenance. VIP may help with moving and loading supplies and materials. SKILLS: Physically fit for manual labor. Experience or skills in any of the above listed duties a plus but not required. Valid driver’s license a plus. COMPENSATION: Orientation of the park, training, and a VIP uniform are provided. The park has ten RV pads with full hook ups; please check for availability. Use of RV pad will require a minimum of 3-month commitment and to work at least 32 hours per week for a single occupancy or 32 hours each for a couple occupancy. We offer a four days on three days off fixed schedule. There are no weekend workdays. AREA: The Park is located in the Texas Hill Country. The Park Headquarters are in Johnson City, which is approximately 40 miles west of Austin or approximately 50 miles north of San Antonio. The summer temperatures reach into the 100s, the winter temperatures range in the 50s. A background investigation per The Department of Interior regulations will be required prior to arrival.
