Duties
Each campground manager’s assignment is different. The following is a description of general duties. Please remember that other related tasks or assignments may be given by the Area Manager.

Meeting and Greeting the Public – Requires good people skills, positive attitude and the ability to defuse potentially confrontational situations.

Collecting and Accounting for Fees – Approaching campers for payment of camping fees and collection of fee envelopes from fee tubes. Collections entered on Daily Fee Sheets. All monies remitted to Area Manager for audit.

Cleaning and Maintaining Campgrounds – Litter removal, cleaning of toilets and picnic tables, removal of ashes from fire rings, weed trimming and possible mowing. Painting of picnic tables and interiors of restrooms as needed. American Land & Leisure supplies all materials required. Some campground managers use their own vehicles and have more than one campground to care for. We’ll pay mileage for the use of personal vehicles when the job assigned requires driving between campgrounds.

Compensation

Campground managers are paid the minimum wage for the state of their assignment. Managers work 3 to 8 hours per day, 6 days a week. Hours may fluctuate according to use and weather. You can expect to make between $500 and $1500 per month per couple. We assign the hours for each campground based on our expertise and past experience. Couples can share the hours as you desire, but the hours must reflect the actual hours worked by each couple. We employ single campground managers where the workload warrants only one person. Uniforms are required and are provided. Employees are given one day off per week. This is usually a Tuesday or Wednesday, but other arrangements can be made if approved by the Area Manager.

Most of our host sites will have water and sewer hookups. Only about 15% of the host sites will have water, sewer and electricity. If you can live with just water and sewer you greatly increase your opportunities for employment.

Great People in Great Places
We currently operate campgrounds in nine different states. When filling out your employment application you may include your preferred locations (under geographical preferences) which correspond with the numbers on the map below.
