Job Description
Location: Collier County Parks & Recreation
Duties: RV campground hosts needed at the Beautiful Pepper Ranch Preserve north of Lake Trafford in South Florida. The Pepper Ranch Preserve is a 2,500 acre preserve located at 6315 Pepper Road in Immokalee, Florida. The preserve is part of the Collier County Conservation Collier Program that preserves and protects Conservation land for plants, wildlife and for future generations. The preserve offers hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails for the public and is open Friday- Sunday, November-June. The preserve is also a working cattle ranch. The campground has 10 campsites and one group campsite. Camping is available Friday and Saturday nights.
Work Schedule: 4 days a week, hours will vary with workload. A minimum of 20 – 25 hours per week for one person and 32 hours per week per couple.
Duties: Host will perform a variety of tasks such as greeting visitors and handing out information, cleaning and replacing restroom supplies, cleaning campsites, picking up litter, and informing the rangers about potential problems. Hosts serve as official greeters when the park ranger is off duty and must be courteous, outgoing, and helpful to all park visitors. Light trail maintenance will also be required 1-2 times per month.

Term: Flexible, minimum 3-4 months, or a Maximum of 8 Months, During November 2020 until July 2021.
Qualifications: Host volunteers need to be physically capable of performing these duties.
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide hospitality to guests. 2. Monitor the campground to ensure campground and preserve rules are being followed. Report any issues to appropriate authorities. 3. Campground facilities maintenance. a. Inspect restrooms periodically for cleanliness and to keep appropriate supplies well stocked. Clean before campers arrive on Friday and after preserve closes on Sunday. b. Report maintenance/repair needs to your supervisor – provide them with a written list. c. Keep outside of the building looking nice – sidewalks swept and cobwebs removed. d. Clean campsites before and after campers arrive, inspect picnic tables for safety and cleanliness, treat ants and clean out fire pits once per week. e. Clean picnic tables under the pavilion once per week or as needed.
