Job Description
The Army Corps. of Engineers at Rathbun Lake is looking for a Volunteer Custodian for Island View Campground’s Day-use areas. We are looking for an energetic couple or applicant that are looking to work in a campground setting with a flexible schedule. The schedule will be alternating days of work with another set of custodians to ensure coverage and ample time off. An example of the schedule will be working 4 days on, 3 days off or working 3 days on and 4 days off; on a monthly schedule rotation. Some duties for the position include, daily cleaning of restrooms, picking up trash along roadsides, cleaning and maintaining the Island View beach area as well as emptying trash can receptacles. A UTV and sprayer trailer will be provided by the Corps. of Engineers, along with all cleaning supplies and materials upon arrival. In exchange for volunteering, this position comes with a full hookup campsite for the duration of the recreation season. (cement camping pad, 50 amp electrical, water and sewer hookups)
Duties include cleaning of restroom facilities once per day, pressure washing facilities once a week, picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles as needed.
Applicant/s must have a positive and energetic attitude, good communication skills, basic knowledge of cleaning, be able to operate a UTV and sprayer trailer safely and effectively. Occasionally must be able to life 30 lbs.
