Lake Livingston State Park

This position will assist the park interpretive program. Duties may include leading nature walks, providing roving interpretation, maintaining park gardens and nature viewing areas. This position may also be asked to assist with light maintenance of park facilities and grounds based on park needs. Preferred experience would include knowledge of flora and fauna indigenous to the Piney Woods region of Texas, experience presenting to groups, and ability to walk trailways for 1-2 hours at a time. Shifts would primarily be weekend days or as needed.Lake Livingston State Park is located in Polk County on the southeast edge of Lake Livingston, an 84,000 acre reservoir. The site is popular with fishermen angling for Crappie, Catfish, and Black, White, and Striped Bass. The park is heavily wooded away from the shore, and is home to approximately 300 species of native and migratory birds. All Park Host sites are equipped with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Wi-fi is also available within the park. Park Hosts must commit to a minimum of a one-month stay, though interested hosts are encouraged to stay for up to six months. Host positions are available year round.
