Job Requirements

–          Strong work skills/experience cleaning/housekeeping

–          Strong communication skills (be clear and concise, receptive, responsive, open to feedback, ask questions, etc)

–          Reliable and punctual

–          Enjoy being outdoors (it gets hot here in the summer)

–          Flexibility (every day is different and requires adapting to needs, work hours are not always continuous or at the same time each day, typically starting around 9am till around 3-4pm, including lunch break)

–          Physically fit (job requires a lot of walking)

Job Description

We are unique campground and retreat center on a beautiful property with stunning views in Cortez, Colorado, near Mesa Verde National Park, Four Corners National Monument, and with great proximity to many outdoor destinations. We have an opening for this camping season for Housekeeping, with potential need for camp hosting some evenings. We will need help from now through mid-late October.

The position is primarily Housekeeping/Cleaning.  This includes laundry, sweeping/vacuuming/mopping, trash, restocking supplies, and general cleaning of tipis and bunk cabins and amenity structures (showers, bathrooms, communal kitchen/pavillion, etc). Please check out the website for a feel of the property. When time allows, some landscaping, weed pulling, mowing may be asked of you. Housekeeping is 5 days/week, 5-6 hours a day, totaling around 30 hours/week.

The Camp Hosting is as needed/available, during an evening or two/week. This will depend on your experience/skills, and demand. This role is primarily carrying the camp host phone and being available to answer calls, texts and in-person questions for guests—mostly for checking in, finding their site, providing bedding as needed, etc.

This is a work trade/salaried position. It includes accommodations including utilities and amenities outlined below, and $390/week pay.

The accommodation is a site with 30 amp electric with access to campground facilities as listed above. If you do not have an RV or camper, we can accommodate with rustic camping cabin (queen bed, electricity, fans—no a/c or heating). We are open to hiring individuals and/or couples.

You will have access to laundry on-site, Wifi, use of amenities (showers, communal kitchen, staff fridge/freezer, ice, filtered drinking water, and good cell service).

We are just 5 miles from the charming city of Cortez, Colorado. It has quaint restaurants, art galleries, live music, Wal-Mart, multiple grocery stores, and more. We are 2 hours to Moab, Utah, 1.5 hrs to Telluride, and 45 min to Durango, Colorado. Mesa Verde NP is ~20 minutes, Phil’s World Mountain Biking is ~15 minutes.

If you enjoy meeting new people, being part of a team, and 5 days/week of helping to keep the place clean, this may be for you. We have 4 tipis, 5 camping cabins, numerous tent and RV sites (20 sites total). We are pet friendly.
