Job Description
The primary duty of the Visitor Center/ Front Desk Clerk Volunteer is to assist office staff with administrative duties. The position is required to work a minimum of 24 hours a week. The 24 hours per week can be split up with their partner’s own volunteer position. The Administrative Assistance Volunteer is responsible to work the scheduled days that are needed for them to work (regardless of the amount of hours worked by their partner).
The volunteer will be scheduled certain days to work in the office which is specified in the volunteer agreement. The volunteer will be required to provide their own transportation as needed. This position will primarily report to the volunteer coordinator.
An RV pad with full hookup (water, electric, and sewer) will be provided while serving as a park host.
The job entails working in our visitor center greeting visitors, answering questions and giving information. Volunteers will answer phones, assist with the America the Beautiful Pass Program, provide interpretive services and programs.
Volunteers must possess reliable personal transportation, the ability to work well and deal with all types of people. Volunteers must be able to effectively work with other volunteers, staff and contractors. Volunteers should be capable of learning how to use the office phone.
Mostly indoors, working with visitors, working independently or with USACE staff
