Area Description:
Lewis Lake is located in the southern part of Yellowstone National Park at an elevation of approximately 7800ft. Lewis Lake campground is one of the more remote front country campgrounds in Yellowstone and is a very popular option for fishing and kayaking enthusiasts. With direct access to the on-site boat launch, this is the main access point for those interested in fishing/paddling Shoshone Lake via the Lewis Lake channel. Grant Village also has limited services including a small general store, gas station, post office, and a marina.

Lewis Lake is an 84 site, reservation campground. The incumbent is responsible for their own accommodations while living at the campground during their term. The camp host sites at Lewis Lake can accommodate up to 30ft RV/Trailer. Generator use is not permitted at Lewis Lake campground due its remote character, however solar panels will be provided for battery replenishment and propane is provided by the park. Water is available within the campground for filling water tanks and each host site is equipped with a sewage tank which is pumped out periodically by park employees. There are no public showers or laundry on site, however these facilities are available nearby at Grant Village or potentially at the South Entrance employee facility.
