Job Description

Hospitality Workamper – Norton Creek Resort & Treehouse Grove

Norton Creek Resort and Treehouse Grove are seeking a dedicated Hospitality Workamper (individual or couple) to live and work with us in the Smoky Mountains. You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team helping to maintain and support one of the region’s most beautiful and unique lodging destinations.

In exchange for 25 hours of work per week (or more if you wish!), we offer a full hookup RV site with utilities included. Any hours worked beyond that are compensated based on experience.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the outdoors, takes pride in a job well done, and finds fulfillment in creating warm, welcoming experiences for guests. We welcome those who are retired or semi-retired and looking for meaningful, light-to-moderate physical work in a beautiful setting.

Compensation
25 hours/week: Covers RV site, full hookups, and utilities
Additional hours paid as follows:
$15/hour standard rate
$17/hour for experienced candidates (hospitality or maintenance background)

Overview of Responsibilities
Hospitality Workampers help out across multiple areas to keep the property running smoothly and guests feeling at home.

Responsibilities vary slightly day to day but generally fall into the categories below:

Property & Grounds Upkeep

  • Clean fire rings/pits and grills after guest use
  • Remove trash and debris from cabins, campsites, trails, and roads
  • Keep paths and decks clear of leaves (in the fall) and ice (in the winter)
  • Walk the property regularly and pick up trash or report any safety concerns
  • Adjust hot tub chemicals and check water quality
  • Check well water filtration systems on a schedule
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of restrooms, picnic areas, and common spaces

Keeping outdoor spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained helps create a strong first impression for guests and keeps the resort looking its best. A tidy grill, clear trail, or clean deck may seem simple, but it sets the tone for a guest’s entire stay. Your attention to detail in this area helps prevent small issues from becoming big ones and contributes to the overall beauty and safety of the resort.

Housekeeping and Guest First Impression Support

  • Help cleaning teams by transporting laundry to and from the office
Deliver supplies to housekeepers during guest turnovers if needed
Inspect properties after cleaning and assist with simple staging tasks (lighting, scent, pillows, etc.)
  • Report property condition with photos or video as needed

Turnover days can move fast, and a little extra support makes a big difference. By helping with tasks like transporting laundry, delivering supplies, and doing final walk-throughs, you’re making sure each home is not just clean, but warm and welcoming. These efforts help the housekeeping team stay on track and ensure we deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience.

Laundry Support

  • Loading and unloading washers and dryers in our off-site laundry facility
  • Sorting linens and towels
  • Folding clean laundry and preparing it for delivery back to units or storage
  • Inputting laundry weight into computer
  • Helping to keep the laundry area clean and organized

We use commercial-grade machines, and training will be provided. While laundry is not a full-time task, it’s a regular and important part of turnover days. Clean, crisp linens are one of the most appreciated comforts by our guests, and your help with washing, drying, and folding keeps the flow steady and the housekeeping team efficient.

Guest Support

  • Offer friendly, helpful guidance to guests—directions, local recommendations, etc.
  • Run requested items (like linens or firewood) to guests, as scheduled by our team
  • Be a calm, positive presence on the property when interacting with guests or vendors

Friendly, helpful interactions go a long way in creating memorable guest experiences. Whether you’re pointing someone to their treehouse, delivering a requested item, or offering a warm welcome, you’re helping guests feel cared for and at home. These moments may be brief, but they’re often what guests remember most.

Event Assistance

  • Help with setup and breakdown for weddings, retreats, and special events
  • Arrange tables, chairs, décor, and equipment to match the event plan
  • Stay available during events to handle light adjustments or assist as needed

Weddings, retreats, and other special events are some of the most important memories our guests will make—and your role helps set the stage. You’ll help prepare venues ahead of time and assist with adjustments during the event. It’s occasional work, but it plays a key part in ensuring things run smoothly and look just right.

Who This Is For
Individuals or couples with their own RV, looking for a scenic, community-oriented place to stay and contribute
Folks who enjoy physical, hands-on work and take pride in clean, well-kept spaces
Friendly, dependable people who value clear communication and teamwork
Experience in hospitality or maintenance is a plus but not required

RV Site Requirements

Please inquire and list measurements of your RV, and we will measure for your scenario. All sites are full hookup with water, electric, and sewer connections.
Please note:
We cannot accommodate tents, pop-ups, skoolies, or van conversions.
RVs must be fully self-contained and visually well-maintained, as they are located within a professionally managed resort setting.
RVs should be model year 2000 or newer, unless in excellent condition (we may request photos in advance).

Vehicle Requirements

A personal vehicle is required for this position.
While we do provide access to a work truck for job-related tasks, it is not available for personal use or general transportation. A personal vehicle ensures you can:

  • Get into town for supplies, errands, or personal needs
  • Assist with guest requests after hours, if needed
  • Maintain independence during off-time

A small truck, SUV, or car is ideal. Four-wheel drive is helpful but not mandatory.
