JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Description:

The Forest Service is seeking friendly, dependable volunteers to serve as Campground Hosts at Todd Lake Recreation Area, a peaceful mountain destination in Augusta County, Virginia. Hosts are the welcoming face of the campground and help ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Todd Lake Campground includes:

 

25 developed campsites in a wooded lakeside setting
Access to hiking trails, fishing, swimming, and day-use areas
Restroom facilities and picnic areas
A quiet, scenic location in the Allegheny Mountains near Staunton and Harrisonburg, VA
Limited cell service

 

Duties:
Greet and assist campers and day-use visitors
Provide information about the site and local area
Monitor facilities and report maintenance needs
Light cleaning and restocking of restrooms and common areas
Support campground operations Thursday through Sunday during our busy recreation season (we are flexible with availability!)

 

Qualifications:
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable staying on-site in a self-provided RV or similar
Willingness to perform light maintenance and cleaning tasks
