Campground Host – City of Stanley, WI
Stanley, WI | Seasonal (May–October) | $400 per pay period + Free Campsite
The City of Stanley is seeking a friendly, dependable individual to serve as Campground Host at Chapman Park Campground. This seasonal position is part of the Public Works Department and works directly with the Streets & Parks Department to support daily campground operations. If you enjoy the outdoors, working with people, and helping create a welcoming camping experience, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome campers, assist with check-in, and answer site questions
- Disburse firewood to campers as needed
- Provide information about campground rules, amenities, and local resources
- Place reserved cards at campsites as needed
- Confirm campers are registered and direct them to payment options
- Monitor compliance with campground policies (quiet hours, fire safety, pets leashed, etc.)
- Report on rule violations, safety concerns, or emergencies to park staff or police
- Perform light upkeep tasks and notify staff of maintenance needs
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of bathrooms and shower facilities
- Encourage campers to share feedback via the posted QR code survey
Qualifications
- Friendly, approachable, and enjoys working with the public
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working independently and outdoors in varying weather
- Ability to walk, stand, and perform light physical tasks (including potentially lifting up to 50lbs)
- Previous hospitality, parks, or customer service experience preferred (not required)
Schedule & Compensation
- Seasonal: May 1 – October 31
- 20–25 hours per week (flexible schedule, includes evenings, weekends, and holidays; extra coverage needed on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends)
- $400 per pay period (roughly $800 per month)
- Free seasonal campsite with hookups included
- Orientation and training provided by the Public Works Department
