Job Description
We are seeking volunteers with great communication skills who enjoy interacting with the public. Our hosts provide hatchery tours, assist visitors with questions about the hatchery property, and maintain hatchery grounds. Grounds maintenance includes, but is not limited to mowing, weed whacking, landscaping, planting and watering flowers, picking up trash, maintaining trails and way finding signs, cleaning the visitor center, and some equipment maintenance. Hosts may also assist with fish culture work when the staff is shorthanded. Hosts are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and may be required to work on weekends and holidays. Hosts will receive two consecutive days off per week. Please keep in mind that mosquitoes are an issue during the summer and you will need to use deterrent for most of the season.
