ADDRESS: Voyageurs National Park Headquarters International Falls, Minnesota, 56649
DATES: 5/10/2026 – 9/30/2026
DEPT: National Park Service
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Voyageurs National Park is looking for volunteers to help operate the Crane Lake Visitor Center for our summer season in 2026. The park partnered with the Town of Crane Lake and many others to launch this newest visitor center operation in 2025, uniquely located near 3 significant public land areas where visitors begin their adventure into Voyageurs National Park, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), and/or the Quetico Provincial Park across the border into Canada.
The park offers a free RV site within walking distance of the Crane Lake Visitor Center. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in parkwide seasonal ranger training in May, followed by a fun season of opportunity to interact with the public at our visitor center, helping with trip planning and orienting visitors to the recreational opportunities in the area. Duties also include light maintenance responsibilities in the public areas of the visitor center, including daily re-stocking supplies and cleaning in the visitor center restrooms. There is also a separate opportunity to serve as a campground host for the new Crane Lake RV Campground. If interested, please indicate your preference when applying.
If living, working, and playing in the Northwoods and waters of Voyageurs next summer sounds intriguing, we’d love to have you apply! Note, like our other 3 visitor centers in the park (Ash River, Kabetogama Lake, & Rainy Lake), the operational season at Crane Lake runs from mid-May through the end of September.
