Job Description
DESCRIPTION
US Army Corps of Engineers Dworshak Dam is looking for couples to help run the Visitor Center at the third tallest dam in the USA! If you like people, enjoy learning and sharing historical information and are positive, outgoing people, this would be a great opportunity for you. We are looking for a couple from May 15th to just after Labor Day (date is negotiable). The Visitor Center is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, 7 days per week. We ask that volunteers would each work 6 to 7 1/2 hour shifts four days per week. This would be four days on, four days off schedule. (Please do not let limitations in availability prevent you from considering this position; we can work with volunteers to fit their availability into our season.)
DUTIES
- Meet and Greet Visitors
- Share information about dam, area, etc.
- Give two Dam Tours per day
- Daily operations of Visitor Center
- Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have desire to meet and interact with people from varied backgrounds
- Must be interested in learning about the dam, history of the area, points of interest, etc.
- Must be comfortable speaking to groups of people

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Visitor Center is three stories with air conditioning and an elevator. This position is mostly indoors, except for tours. The dam is 3/4 of a mile long, so you will need to be prepared to walk at least a few miles each day. Tours can take place when it is hot and sunny or cool and rainy; must be prepared for all kinds of weather.
