JOB DESCRIPTION:

This National Park Service Volunteer-In-Parks position functions within the Facilities Management Division of Yellowstone National Park. The applicants selected for this volunteer position will be full time, (32 hour/week) uniformed members of the workforce.

 

The primary duty of the Employee RV Park Host is to ensure the smooth operation of the RV Park through monitoring and education. The RV Park Host interacts with contractors and concessionaires who live in the RV Park. The Host provides regulatory information and monitors compliance with regulations designed to keep wildlife safe (food storage) and ensure a high-quality residential experience for the park’s workforce in their off-duty hours. Duties might include some light maintenance and janitorial work. The Campground Host also coordinates with National Park Service staff and other support personnel.

 

As members of the workforce, volunteers are expected to be active participants in our safety program and to practice safe work behaviors. Additionally, the volunteer is expected to contribute to a positive workplace culture where respect and professionalism are a priority.

 

The National Park Service will provide a campsite with utilities (water, sewer, and electric hookups) within the campground. The Employee RV Park Host will provide their own RV/trailer.

 

Positions are available at Canyon Village, Yellowstone Lake, and Grant Village. While the position is available April through September, half seasons (90 day) might be an option.
