DATES: 2026-06-08

DEPT: Forest Service

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Grey’s River Road is one of the Bridger-Teton’s most popular roads. Passing between the Salt Range and Wyoming range, it runs south from Alpine, WY 60 miles to the Tri Basin Divide. The road offers amazing access to fishing, kayaking, camping, hiking, OHV trails and horseback riding.

This role would be focused on dispersed camping, and the ambassador would be someone who provides visitors with responsible recreation education and keeps an eye on overall conditions of the area. Typically, they perform patrols of the area and greet visitors and provide them with information on how to camp responsibly; respecting stay limits, remembering to put out fires, pack out trash and dispose of human waste properly. Other duties include improving signage, checking fire-rings for abandoned campfires and communicating area-specific needs and issues to a Forest Service supervisor.

Candidate will need to have their own RV/trailer for this role, and the ambassador will stay in a dispersed campsite for the summer (no hook-up’s available.) Start and end dates are somewhat flexible.
