Park host volunteers are stewards of Crook County Parks and Recreation District (CCPRD) operated campgrounds. As representatives of CCPRD, they provide support for park guests, staff and are instrumental in taking care of our camping facilities. Their incredible volunteer efforts help us to
truly achieve our mission: To enhance the quality of life in our community through diverse
programs, beautiful facilities and excellent customer service.

CCPRD operates three campgrounds: Ochoco Lake Campground, Crook County RV Park and Haystack Reservoir Campground. Each campground is unique in what is has to offer and the duties vary based on the location, size and needs of each park.

Volunteer hosts make a minimum commitment of at least 30 days per host assignment. The length of  stay can vary, as well as the hours per week. Typically you can expect to spend 32 hours per week hosting.

In addition to the requirements related to each specific host assignment, all CCPRD host volunteers are required to:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Pass an annual criminal background check.
  • Pass an annual driver’s records check.
  • Own a self-contained recreational vehicle.

Other Requirements:

  • Follow the policies and procedures of the Host Program.
  • Support a safe, respectful and inclusive park environment for guests, staff and volunteers.
  • Honor and keep volunteer commitments.
  • Pets of hosts are welcome, but hosts must obey park pet rules. Pets must have a current rabies vaccination.
