Job Description
***
LOCATION: 11466 CO-325, Rifle, CO 81650
DESCRIPTION:
Do you enjoy camping / RV’ing, working outdoors, interacting with people, and have good customer service and communication skills? Become a volunteer Hatchery Host at Rifle Falls Hatchery, the largest in the state! We are relatively secluded, about 30 minutes from Rifle at the base of Little Box Canyon in Western Colorado. We have some of the most beautiful campsites and the best hatchery crew around! Please note that we are above 7,000 feet in elevation. If you have health concerns that elevation may affect, please don’t apply.
Responsibilities include Visitor Center assistance, lawn maintenance, and restroom monitoring & cleaning. Other duties as assigned.
A previous volunteer shared her experiences with us: “This was the most beautiful campsite we have ever had. This canyon has so much to offer volunteers. The staff were a joy to work with and always willing to share information. The work is enjoyable and rewarding if you enjoy working with people. An added bonus was watching the golden eagles from fledglings through their early flights. Wildlife comes through the hatchery and even to your campsite… My greatest regret is our own inability to travel because we miss the Rifle Falls Fish Hatchery family.”
